Tewkesbury 2009

Got back from Tewkesbury late last night and am now back to work. Looking out at the rain pouring down, it makes me glad yesterday was as bright and sunny as it was, meaning the pavilion is dry for next weekend.

Thank you to those of you who came up to say hi and introduce yourselves, always nice to meet new people, and also to old friends, good to catch up with you. As you noticed, we didn’t have as much stock as some of the other armourers there, but generally speaking we find the majority of our sales are made by commission so that we can make the armour to fit you, rather than you having to make do with a poor fit. Therefore we have found in the past most stock remains unsold as customers would rather order a custom job. However, the plan is to have more stock items of armour that tends to need less fitting for future events.

I am now working on stuff for next weekend, including some spaulders and a plackart. I am still making my way through the commission list, so those of you who have ordered items – don’t worry.
